Camden Waterfront

The Camden Waterfront, also known as the Central Waterfront, is a tourist and entertainment district in Camden, New Jersey on the Delaware River south of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge and north of Port of Camden.

The district is characterized by its visitor attractions and its location offering views of the river and the Philadelphia skyline. It is served by RiverLink Ferry which crosses the river to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the Cooper St-Rutgers, Aquarium and Entertainment Center stations of the RiverLINE light rail system. According to the 2000 U.S. Census, the neighborhood has a population of 962.

Attractions

The Adventure Aquarium was originally opened in 1992 as the New Jersey State Aquarium at Camden. In 2005, after extensive renovation, the aquarium was reopened under the name Adventure Aquarium. The aquarium was one of the original centerpieces in Camden's plans for revitalizing their city.

The Susquehanna Bank Center (formerly known as the Tweeter Center) is a 25,000-seat open-air concert amphitheater that was opened in 1995 and renamed after a 2008 deal in which the bank would pay $10 million over 15 years for naming rights.

Waterfront (song)

"Waterfront" is a 1983 single from Simple Minds, the first release from the album Sparkle in the Rain.

Featuring a new, rockier sound, "Waterfront" scaled the charts in various countries around the world, including hitting #1 for two weeks in New Zealand. It also reached #13 on the UK Singles Charts. Today, it is a live favorite and is regarded as a Simple Minds signature song.

It features a bass line consisting of a single note (D) throughout.

The version as released on 7" vinyl single (and on the original Now That's What I Call Music compilation) differs from versions available on CD. The original single didn't feature the repetitive bass-line that leads into the main body of the song, but had a "one, two....one, two, three, four.." drumstick count-in by drummer Mel Gaynor.

It has been used for many years as the song Sheffield Wednesday football club come out to before home matches. The version originally played was a live version, however it has since been changed to the studio recording.

Cape Town

Cape Town (Afrikaans: Kaapstad [ˈkɑːpstɐt]; Xhosa: Ikapa) is a city in South Africa. It ranks third among the most populous urban areas in South Africa, after Johannesburg and Durban, and has roughly the same population as the Durban Metropolitan Area. It is also the provincial capital and primate city of the Western Cape. It is the southernmost city on the African continent.

As the seat of the National Parliament it is also the legislative capital of the country. It forms part of the City of Cape Town metropolitan municipality. The city is famous for its harbour, for its natural setting in the Cape Floristic Region, as well as for such well-known landmarks as Table Mountain and Cape Point. As of 2014, it is the 10th most populous city in Africa and home to 64% of the Western Cape's population. It is one of the most multicultural cities in the world, reflecting its role as a major destination for immigrants and expatriates to South Africa. The city was named the World Design Capital for 2014 by the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design. In 2014, Cape Town was named the best place in the world to visit by both The New York Times and The Telegraph.
